Attending: get started
Go together with a party
A party is a group of accounts that can be placed together for an event. Party membership by itself does not reserve a spot at an event. Organizers can enable parties and configure a maximum party size for new parties and group bookings.
Create a party or accept an invitation
On your organization's QueueKat site, open Parties (/parties) to create a
reusable party, or use Book with a party from an event page to create one
for that event. A reusable party can be used for more than one event at the
same organization. An event-only party is for that event.
The leader can share the party's invitation link. Opening the link does not add you to the party or reserve an event spot: sign in to the QueueKat site for that organization, review the party, and choose Join party. An invitation can be turned off or replaced by the leader. Joining an event-only party closes after that party has a booking or joins the waitlist.
Choose who is coming and place the group
The party leader chooses which joined members to include and selects one arrival time for the group. Only the selected members get spots. The organization's maximum party size applies to the selected group. Each selected person must have an active account at that organization and be eligible for a new spot; for example, an existing spot at the event blocks another one. The group is placed together or not placed; the app does not split it to fit a window or waitlist limit.
If no arrival time is available, the leader may be able to join the waitlist with the selected people together. The waitlist needs room for the whole group. Joining it is not a guarantee that a place will become available.
Every attendee has their own spot at the event and, when summoned, their own pass. See Book a place or join a waitlist and Respond to an offer and show your pass.
Know who can act for the group
- The party leader manages the party and chooses the booking roster. They can hand leadership to another member.
- If the group receives a waitlist offer, any person still in that booking can accept it for everyone. Only the booking's coordinator can decline for the whole group and keep it waiting while the waitlist remains open.
- A party cannot use the individual I need more time or I'm on the way actions; respond to the group offer as described above, and show each attendee's own pass when the party is called.
- A member who cannot attend can give up only their own spot at that event. The rest of the group can continue together; that member remains in the party.
- Leaving the party is separate from giving up an event spot. Leaving the party does not cancel spots already booked.
Troubleshooting
- If Create a party or group booking is unavailable, parties may not be enabled for this organization, or the selected group may exceed its configured maximum size.
- If an invite does not work, it may have been disabled or replaced, or an event-only party may already have a booking. Open the invite from the event organizer and sign in to your organization's QueueKat site.
- If the group cannot be booked, check the selected roster and the maximum shown on the page. The app will not book only part of the selected group.
